ECHOLS COUNTY, GA (WALB) –An Echols County man is in jail Monday night charged with murdering his girlfriend.
61-year old Lynnwood Mathis showed up at the Echols County Sheriff's Office late Saturday night and told a deputy there was a dead woman in his home on Bethel Church Road.
Officers found 28-year old Martha Felton of Jennings, Florida stabbed to death and wrapped in a blanket in a hallway.
They immediately arrested Mathis. He is now in the Lowndes County Jail.
