ROCHELLE, GA (WALB) - The Wilcox County Patriots are wanting to repeat as Class A state champions this season.
Mark Ledford said. "We got just a number of guys over there in the offensive skill positions that we feel are going to step right in and pick up where we left off."
Wilcox County opens the season against 1-A Miller County on Friday at 7:30 p.m. in Rochelle.

Their biggest task in that goal may be just getting out of their region.
The Patriots start the season ranked number one but the neighborhood in region 2-A has gotten a lot tougher Clinch County and Charlton County moving in.
Those three teams are ranked in the top five in the first poll of the season. Head coach Mark Ledford says the biggest challenge is going to be up front where the Patriots return just one starter on the offensive and line and two from their front eight on defense. Wilcox County does have quarterback/defensive back Nick Marshall who has committed to Georgia. Marshall is not the only offensive weapon for the Patriots who return The Patriots also return their top two receivers Tay Porter and Quez Mahogany.
