(Tallahassee, Florida-AP) -- Hahira native and Lowndes High grad Stephen Drew hit two home runs and had four RBIs as Florida State beat South Alabama 12 to 2 today in the NCAA regionals down in Tallahassee.
The win sends the Seminoles into a super regional against defending national champion Texas and ended the Jaguars' season. The Seminoles, who beat the Jaguars 13 to 5 earlier in the afternoon to force a final game, jumped out early with four runs in the first inning.
Tony McQuade and Tony Richie had back-to-back one-out solo homers and Jerrod Brown followed with a two-run bomb over the fence in right. The homer was Browns fourth of the weekend and seventh overall.
Drew added to the lead in the next inning with a leadoff solo homer. His second of the game came with two runners on in the fifth. Drew finished with nine R-B-Is in the two games against the Jaguars.
