ALBANY, GA (WALB) – About one hundred of survivors of serious illnesses and condition along with their supporters dawned hats for a true southern tea this afternoon.

Chosen to Conquer held a Southern Tea event.

The organization empowers women after diagnosis with multiple sclerosis, heart disease, and breast cancer with the display of a "little southern hospitality."

The tea was A fundraising event to empower, inspire, and educate attendees on the impact of the diagnosis of devastating diseases.

"We're here to raise funds so we can bring in new conquers and allow them to go through a process of rejuvenating their life. We're here to provide the relief and let them know this is just a disease and you can overcome it," said Shawndelynne Medlock, Chosen to Conquer.

There was also a silent auction, and a one woman play at ASU to raise money for the event.
