ALBANY, GA (WALB) – An 18-year old man was hit in the head with a bottle and robbed Friday afternoon on an Albany street.
It happened about 1:30 at North Monroe and Tenth Avenue.

APD spokeswoman Phyllis Banks said that "an Officer observed John Allen Brown walking in the 1700 block of South Monroe Street. He was bleeding severely from the forehead."

"When the officer stopped him, he stated that he was headed to an address located on 10th Avenue when he was approached by a black male and two white males. "

"At some point, they grabbed him and the black male struck him in the forehead with a beer bottle. The three then fled the scene in a late model Mercury or Buick sedan.  No arrests have been made and this case remains under investigation."

Police put out a lookout for three men, two white and one black, who were driving a white Mercury believed headed north toward Lee County.
