ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Two groups partnered to make the future for hundreds of children healthier.

About 400 young people and some parents showed up for a Healthy Kids event at the Jane Wilson Boys and Girls Club.

The club partnered with the Peach State Health Plan to get the word out about healthcare resources at little or no cost, and to give out bags of school supplies.

"We just identified kids and families in the community who need assistance, school supplies. If you have a family of four or five kids the school supplies get up into the numbers," said Bob Hutchinson, Boys & Girls Club of Albany Dir. of Operations.

The event was only open to Boys and Girls Club and Peach State Plan members.
