ALBANY, GA (WALB) –As he campaigns for re-election, Senator Johnny Isakson says jobs is by far the number one issue that Georgians are discussing with him.

Isakson said his back ground as a business owner has him in complete disagreement with the President and Democratic Party's fiscal policies. The Senator says there is little hope businesses will be hiring until they are confident in future legislation.

Isakson said "Until the people know what their taxes are going to be next year, until people know what the regulations environment is going to be next year, business is not going to put capital at risk in that uncertainty. And that is the biggest problem we've got now."

Isakson has served one term in the Senate. He is opposed by former Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond in November's election, and some recent polls have Isakson with a ten point lead.
