QUITMAN, GA (WALB) –There's a battle over a fire truck that serves as a memorial to fallen firefighters.
Ray City gave the South Georgia Firefighters Memorial Association permission to use the fire engine at festivals and parades to honor fallen firefighters.
But the truck is still titled to the city and they're worried they'll get sued if someone gets hurt on it.
So they want former firefighter Rick Pennock to return the truck.
"i've got so many people emailing me saying don't give this up, don't let them win this over especially since one gentlemen made a remark that it's just a truck load of stickers that really made the family's say they really don't want this to go back to Ray City because obviously it's going to be sold," said Pennock.
Mayor Dolly Dupree says she just wants the Ray City's name off the truck.
Pennock says he plans to work something out with the mayor.
