BAINBRIDGE, GA (WALB) –Two people are charged with stealing valuable logs off the Flint River bed in Bainbridge.

28-year old Natasha Armstrong and 30-year old James Armstrong are charged with recovering commercially harvested logs that sunk during their transport down the river in the 1800s.

The logs are considered extremely valuable because the water gives the wood unique characteristics.

But the Armstrongs did not have a permit to retrieve the logs.

They're both charged with theft by taking.
