DOUGLAS, GA (WALB) –An off duty trooper was tased by a Coffee County deputy after he was  uncooperative with officers during a search.

Deputies with the Coffee County Sheriffs office were called to Evergreen Avenue to assist police in breaking up several fights in the area involving over 100 people.

Clyde Anthony, who deputies later found out was an off duty state trooper, pulled up next to deputies.

According to the incident report, he shouted obscenities at the deputy, but when deputies went to search Anthony he started swinging his arms hitting the deputy asking him to leave him alone.

Another deputy ordered Anthony to stop and when he didn't Anthony was tased.

He was arrested and charged with disorderly contact but then Anthony said he did not want to lose his job. So he was issued a citation and released from jail.
