DECATUR COUNTY, GA (WALB) –A Decatur County man is hospitalized Monday after a truck collision with a man labeled a habitual DUI offender.

Troopers say 29-year old Oscar Ormando Ramirez ran a stop sign on Bethany Church Road on Highway 253 Saturday morning.

His pick-up slammed head on into a truck driven by 56-year old Douglas Heard.

Heard was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

Ramirez is charged with DUI, failure to stop at a stop sign and driving on the wrong side of the road.

He's in the Decatur County jail.
