ALBANY, GA (WALB) – More community members step forward to say the intersection of South County Line road and Sylvester Road in East Dougherty County is dangerous, and needs to be changed.

In the last month one man has been killed in a crash at that intersection, and another man seriously injured.

From motorcycle club members to church deacons, community leaders say the intersection needs a flashing light or warning signs.

Mike McKinley of the Remaining Few Motorcycle Club came very close to being hit by a car this morning at the intersection.

Remaining Few Motorcycle Club Vice President Mike McKinley said "People just don't pay attention. If we had a flashing caution light for east and west, and a flashing red for north and south on County Line, maybe illuminate this area, so people can see at night."

First Baptist Church of Acree Deacon David Dunn said  "We've had a couple of church members killed out there and had several more in accidents."

Even though the men killed and injured at that intersection in the last month were on motorcycles, McKinley said the intersection is dangerous for all drivers.

He and the Remaining Few Motorcycle Club have requested to speak with Dougherty County Commissioners during the August 30th meeting, to discuss the dangerous intersection.
