ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Gil Barrett, a longtime member of the Dougherty County Commission, has died.
Barrett was elected to the county commission in 1958 and went on to serve 40 years, 20 as chairman.
Barrett passed away at his home yesterday, at age 87. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
