THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) – Thomas County authorities say a 14-year-old boy was found dead in his bedroom around 6:00 this morning.

He died from a gun shot wound, and authorities say a weapon was recovered at the scene.

The family's home is in the Pine Lake Rd. subdivision. The GBI and Thomas County Sheriff's office worked the scene. They are trying to rule out foul play, but are also investigating a suicide angle.

The boy's parents were in the house at the time, and a name is expected to be released shortly.
