DOOLY, GA (WALB) - A Tennessee man driving a converted school bus died in a crash Sunday morning in Dooly County.
62-year-old Esteben Layden was heading south on I-75 near Vienna. Troopers say around 4:00 Sunday morning, a tractor trailer truck rear ended the bus, sending it off the interstate before it crashed head on into a tree. The impact killed Layden instantly.
The truck driver, 71-year-old Bobby Gaines of North Carolina, told troopers he came up on the school bus quicker than he had predicted. Charges are pending in the case.
