ALBANY, GA (WALB) – A South Georgia restaurant is chipping in to help a manager of another restaurant pay her medical bills. Shirley Davis is the manager of Golden Corral Restaurant in Albany, but she's no longer able to work as she is suffering from terminal cancer.
Her medical bills are mounting. Co-workers have raised money for her, now Papa John's Pizza is chipping in. On Monday, August 16th, if you place an order in support of Shirley Davis, 100% of the proceeds from that order will go toward her medical bills.
Co-worker Nancy Roberson said, "Made me want to cry. All these people are so wonderful. It's just amazing, the outpouring from the community."
Papa John's Marketing Coordinator Connie Scarbrough said, "And we hope we have just tons of orders for Ms. Shirley. We want this to be an awesome day for her."
Another Level bike club is also hosting a poker run to benefit Shirley Davis and her family. That will be held on September 11th starting at Albany Harley Davidson. The cost is $10 per bike entry. Additional hands are $5. To find out more, contact Shelby Daniel at 229-894-3818.
