ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  Nearly 100 vendors visited Albany Thursday to display their products and services and to set up partnerships with the Marine Base and other government agencies.

Logistics Command at MCLB hosted the small business trade show at the Albany Civic Center. About 90 different companies were showcased. Many were from out of town, even out of state.

Some already serve the base from here in Albany. "Motion Industries is a supplier for MCLB and we provide critical replacement parts for the equipment that's helping our overseas operations," Greg Perry of Motion Industries.

"We hope some of these small businesses will see the need to be close to their client, which will be the base and in turn open an office here and that's what we're here to do," Justin Strickland, EDC Special Projects Director.

Several defense contractors and suppliers have already opened offices in Albany to be closer to the base and logistics command.
