LEESBURG, GA (WALB) - The Lee County Lady Trojans are not changing their goals even though their lineup will be dominated by sophomores this season.

The Lady Trojans lost six senior starters who made three straight trips to the Elite Eight.

Lee County does return ace pitcher Lindsay Tompkins who won 26 games last season and her battery mate all-region catcher Natalie Shiver.

Sophomore shortstop Hayley Scott saw significant playing time as a freshman.

The Lady Trojans will face a tough region schedule with three Houston County schools dropping down to AAAA and AAA state runner-up Northside Columbus moving up.

The fast pitch game changes for all teams with the pitcher's mound moved back three feet this season.

Head coach Lynn Avery said. "I think they put it back so we can have a little more offense. Here again if the offense is flowing better then the defense has got to do better. I think it will make the game a little better."

Lee County opens the regular season at Hardaway on Tuesday.
