Tifton, GA (WALB) – An Alabama teenager was killed early Thursday in a car/tractor trailer collision on I-75 in Tifton.

Troopers say the 19-year old girl was a passenger in a Ford Mustang that collided with the big rig.

Both vehicles were headed south on 75 near Brighton Road, when the Mustang driver swerved to avoid a piece of tire rubber, ran off the road, overcorrected and slammed into the tractor trailer in the lane next to him.

The Mustang driver, 21-year old Colton Reece of Bear Creek, Alabama, wasn't injured. His 19 year old passenger, who's name is not being released yet, was killed.

The driver of the tractor trailer, 44-year old Ramiz Sinanovic of Lawrenceville, Georgia, was not injured.

The wreck happened just after 1:30 Thursday morning. Troopers are continuing their investigation.
