News release from VSP
ALBANY, GA - (WALB) - VSP® Vision Care is partnering with the Georgia Optometric Association (GOA) and the Samaritan Clinic to bring a 45-foot mobile eye clinic to provide 2 days of free comprehensive eye exams and eyewear to uninsured and underinsured Albany residents.
A recent nationwide study of nearly 4,000 Americans by VSP revealed that more than 76% of children under the age of five have never had a comprehensive eye exam.
Eye health ranks second only to oral health as the greatest unmet public healthcare need in the U.S., according to the National Eye Health Education Program of the National Eye Institute.*
The care is offered Thursday, August 12 – Friday, August 13 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Mt. Zion Community Reinvestment Corp. – Samaritan Clinic, 1905 Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr, Albany, Georgia. (Persons receiving this service have been referred from Samaritan Clinic)
