ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  Emergency crews responded to the 1100 block of South Van Buren Street, where a vehicle cashed into a house.

24-year-old Donald Bernard Pratt of Albany was driving North on Van Buren when he lost of control of his car, hit a curve and ended up in a house.

He tells police the 1997 Plymouth Breeze kept accelerating, even though he hit the brakes multiple times.  A person who was in the apartment at the time was not hurt, though Pratt complained of minor soreness.

Pratt has been charged with:

  • Violation of learners license
  • Failure to maintain lane
  • Unregistered vehicle
  • Improperly transferred tag
  • No insurance
  • Expired license
