Albany -- Car crashes and deaths were lower than expected over the Memorial Day weekend. Troopers are glad their predictions weren't accurate. In Southwest Georgia, there were no traffic deaths over the holiday weekend.

Trooper First Class Darryl Benton of the Georgia State Patrol said "The weather was a factor, it was good. High visibility, everyone working hard. And click it or ticket, that also was a part of it."

12 people were killed in Memorial Day wrecks. Troopers had predicted 21 would die.
