ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  Voting precincts in Albany weren't crowded Tuesday. Election officials expected low voter turnout for the runoffs, and that's what they got.

At Merry Acres Middle School, only about 100 people had cast ballots by noon. Most voters were casting republican ballots. Voters who did cast a ballot say they're discouraged more people don't make it a priority.

"I've always voted in every election and I don't understand the mentality of some people that don't really realize how serious this is, how important it is that we have a voice in who leads us," said Bill Bradley a voter.

The polls in Georgia are open until 7:00 P.M.
