Albany-- The driver who smashed his car into a power pole Friday likely suffered a heart attack, causing him to run off the road.
This block of Old Dawson Road near North Westover was closed most of the day while crews made repairs. Police think the driver, Gary Gallagher of Lee County, had a heart attack while he was driving. He is in critical condition tonight, and police say he has not awakened since Friday.
