ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Gubernatorial hopeful Nathan Deal stumped for votes in Albany on a statewide fly-around before Tuesday's runoff.  Deal landed at the airport in Albany shortly after noon and was greeted by several dozen supporters.

Deal was joined by Jan Jones, the highest ranking woman in the Georgia General Assembly. She and State Representative Ed Rynders endorsed Deal for Governor.  Deal said his opponent Karen Handel is running a negative campaign, and that he's the only one with a chance of beating democrat Roy Barnes in November.

Deal said, "People all over this state, I think, are being repulsed by this kind of campaign tactic.  I think they want to know what's going to be the future of our state and what's going to be good for our state."

While complaining about Handel's negativity, Deal also took a shot at her.  He said he was spending the day visiting supporters around the state, not spending the day at a 4-star hotel in Buckhead.
