ALBANY, GA (WALB) - We have new details on a fire near Club River, which could have been a lot worse if it wasn't for the Albany Fire Department's quick response.

The fire caused more than $13,000 in damage, mostly to the upper portion of the building. $6,000 of that includes props from Deerfield Windsor's drama department.

Firefighters were returning from a call when they noticed smoke billowing from the storage unit next to Club River on the corner of Gillionville and Slappey Boulevard.

They immediately laid lines and battled the smoke. People were inside the Club River building at the time, but they made it out safely. No one was hurt.
