ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Two teenage brothers are in critical condition after witnesses found them at the bottom of a pool at the Regency Inn Hotel on East Oglethorpe Boulevard.

Police say 13-year-old Justin Milledge and 14-year-old Marquis Milledge were unresponsive when guests pulled them from the water 5:30 Sunday evening.

Police say the teens were unresponsive when hotel guests pulled them from the water and performed CPR.

A sister was with the brothers but police don't know if she was supervising them at the time.

"Right now we don't know who was around the pool," said Albany Police Media Director, Phyllis Banks. "We just know there were a few witnesses around the pool. Whether there was supervision around the pool, that will be part of the investigation."

A CSI Investigator takes pictures of their belongings and records evidence and towels lie on the ground near the 8ft deep end where one witness performed CPR.

Two drownings have occurred in Albany this summer. Police urge parents and guardians to keep a close eye on their children when swimming at the pool.

"Unfortunately we have had a couple of drownings this summer," Banks added. "We want to encourage people to take the necessary precautions when they're involved in pool activities. Make sure children are well supervised and make sure all safety precautions are taken into consideration."

The brothers were later air lifted to an Augusta hospital.
