Georgia defensive end David Pollack, last year's player of the year in the Southeastern Conference, has been named to watch list for the Lombardi Award in the 2003 season.
That award is presented to down linemen and defensive players who line up within five yards of the football.
12 semifinals will be announced during the season and the winner announced in December.
The junior from Snellville broke Georgia's single season record with 14 quarterback sacks and intercepted two passes - one for a touchdown.
David Pollack is also a candidate for the Bronko Nagurski Award. That is given to the top defensive player in college football each year.
