ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Two teens tried to break into an Albany business but they were caught red handed by officers patrolling the area. The business owner is upset, but she is trying to help the young would-be burglars.

Around 3 o'clock Sunday morning two teenagers tried to burglarize Dat's Wussup Fashions in the Shackleford Shopping Plaza on East Oglethorpe.

The young men used a rock to smash the glass.

Nothing was taken because they couldn't get in, the lock was keyed on both sides. A silent alarm alerted police who were in the area.

Despite what happened the owner is willing mentor the young men and steer them away from a life of crime.

"I am very glad they had the opportunity to catch them, so they can give us the opportunity to mentor them and teach them how to understand the value of hard work that we put into the business. Hopefully the court system will allow us work with them," said Ayasha Banks, Owner, Dat's Wassup Fashions.

Police arrested the teens.

The business has been there for three years, Banks said until now, she's have never had any problems.
