Thomasville- Early Monday afternoon South Georgians were still at the grocery store stocking up on items for their holiday feasts.
While not everyone was planning a traditional cookout, they all had reasons for waiting until the last minute.
"I picked up hamburger. We didn't know if we were going to have enough or not," says Martha Fallin.
"My job is part of the cooking, taking care of the salad preparations and all, so you wait till the last minute to get it. Isn't that the American way," laughs John Ogburn.
Those who did wait until Monday afternoon to buy groceries said they were still able to find what they needed and at a good price.
