VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - The Lowndes High Vikings lost 12 seniors who all earned college scholarships.

The Vikings don't rebuild.

They re-load.

Lowndes still has plenty of talent especially in the secondary where Tyler Hunter has committed to Florida State and Geraldo Orta is planning to play at Clemson next season.

The secondary also has Mikeon Padgett and Kerry Stanley.

Tyler Hunter will also be a key man on offense where senior quarterback Cole Parker returns for a second season along with running back Troy Braswell.

The big work in camp must be done on both lines of scrimmage.

The offensive line lost all five starters.

Head coach Randy McPherson says it's time for last year's backups to step up and continue the Vikings tradition of winning.

Randy

McPherson said. "Every position is wide open. The kids that are trying to get spots up there they are strong. They are big. We have got confidence they will come through."

Lowndes will open the season on August 20th at home against South Gwinnett.
