TIFTON, GA (WALB) - A day after police issued murder warrants against a man wanted in a deadly Tifton shooting, the suspect surrendered to police.
Sheddrick Frager,who's accused of gunning down a Florida man in broad daylight outside the Ramada Limited Thursday, agreed to cooperate with police and turn himself in after a joint effort between the community and several enforcement agencies.
Guests and employees at Days Inn are relieved murder suspect Sheddrick Frager is behind bars after Tifton Police Charged him with the murder of 33-year old Joe Sylhomme of North Lauderdale, Florida.
Erica Webb works at the Days Inn right next to the Ramada. They're under the same parent company.
"I'm so glad they caught him," Webb said. "Business was slow that day because people saw the crime scene tape and police officers, but things are back to normal now."
Tifton Police Detective Lee Dunston says Frager came forward after close friends and family encouraged him to. The joint effort between the community, Crisp County and Turner County Sheriff's Offices allowed police to serve a warrant on Frager.
Police booked Frager in the Tift County Jail. It gives everyone in the community a little peace of mind. The motive of the shooting is unknown at this time.
Police have sent evidence to the crime lab in Moultrie for further investigation.
