Albany armed robbery and stabbing

ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Police are investigating an overnight shooting in East Albany that left a man with a gunshot wound to the back.

23-year-old Tervorus Thomas and his brother were walking toward the Marie Road and Pineview intersection when someone opened fire around 2:30 this morning. Thomas was hit once in the back and taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. There are no suspects at this time.

A couple hours earlier a man was stabbed in the back on south Jackson street.

31-year-old Cary Cooper told police he was trying to break up a fight in the 2200 block of South Jackson Street. He told officers he felt someone hit him in the back. As he walked he realized that he had been stabbed and he drove himself to the hospital where he was treated and released. No arrests have been.
