ALBANY, GA (WALB) - New Georgia defensive coordinator Todd Grantham is praising the work of senior linebacker Darryl Gamble in the first week of practice.

Gamble started camp listed on the second team at outside linebacker after being moved to the position in the last week of spring practice.

Grantham says Gamble and Cornelius Washington are in a close battle for the top spot in the depth chart and both are off to a great start in practice.

Earlier this week, Darryl Gamble says he likes the new 3-4 defense Georgia will run the season.

Gamble also likes the Bulldogs new defensive coordinator.

Darryl Gamble said. "One on one Coach Grantham he is one of the more calmer coaches but on the field he just want things to go his way. Things to be run his way. If you can't do it, the next guy he will find out if they can do it."

Georgia will host their Fan Day on August 21st and the season opener is September 4th against Louisiana-Lafayette.

The game will air on WALB at 12:20 p.m. on September 4th.
