Posey was named the National League player of the month in July and Philadelphia pitcher Roy Halladay was named the pitcher of the game.
The Giants catcher also won the National League Rookie of the Month.
Posey is the first rookie to win National League Player of the Month since Milwaukee's Ryan Braun three years ago.
The Giants 2008 #1 draft pick batted .417 in the month of July and had the second longest hitting streak for a rookie in team history at 21 games.
He broke Jim Ray Hart's record for most hits by a San Francisco rookie in a month and tied Hart's rookie record with 24 RBI's in July.
Posey also became the first catcher in Major League Baseball history to catch back to back shutouts.
Tim Lincecum and Barry Zito threw back to back shutouts against the New York Mets right after the All-Star break.
Buster Posey will make his homecoming when the Giants open a four game series against the Atlanta Braves at Turner Field on Thursday.
