Students help keep Albany beautiful

By Tayleigh Davis - bio | email

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -Some good-hearted students are using the end of their summer vacation to help clean up Albany.

A youth group from Jacksonville Beach, Florida trimmed shrubs at Hillsman Park Tuesday afternoon.

Other group members braved the extreme heat as they painted park benches in Tift Park. It's the third summer the volunteers have teamed up with Keep Albany Dougherty Beautiful.

"It feels good because you're helping a community and I like the feeling of that," said volunteer, Conner Hervey. "It's been a fun time and it feels good doing that stuff."

The youth group members also unloaded eight pallets at the food bank. They'll be in town through Friday helping with beautification projects.
