Undated-- The Consumer Product Safety Commission is teaming up with three companies to recall thousands of toys that could pose a hazard to children.
Small toy cars made by International Playthings Incorporated in New Jersey are being recalled because small parts on the vehicles can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children. So far the company has received one report of the small parts detaching, but no injuries have been reported.
The Viking Mini Chubbies are toy wagons, tractors, helicopters, cars, airplanes and jeeps. They are about three-inches long and were sold in red, blue and yellow.
The Step-Two Company in Ohio is recalling 800 toy drumsticks . The tip on the drumstick can break off, posing a choking hazard to young children. The company has received one report of a child beginning to choke on the top of the drumstick. The blue and yellow drumsticks were sold with the Step-Two Toddle Tunes Big Band drum set.
Bike helmets are being recalled because they fail impact testing required under CPSC's safety standard. That means the Catlike Kompact adult bicycle helmets are in violation of the consumer product safety act. There have been no reports of incidents or injuries related to the helmets.
