ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  A Lee County man charged with murdering a little girl entered a not guilty plea today.

30-year old Thomas Darling is charged with hitting 2-year-old Lila Grayce Lyons so hard with his knee he lacerated her liver.

Darling was babysitting for the toddler back in May when she died.

21-year old Nakasha Holmes also pleaded not guilty to reckless conduct and involuntary manslaughter in the death of her infant daughter.

Holmes told investigators she was sleeping with five month old K'laysha in February and awoke to find her unresponsive. The baby later died at a hospital. Two other cases we've been following were continued.

Attorney Craig Mathis did not enter a plea on prescription drug charges because he remains in rehab.

Jordan Harris did not appear to face charges of robbing the Leesburg Flash Foods because he remains in the Dougherty County Jail charged with shooting and robbing Albany hardware store owner Walter Phelps.
