ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Foster children received back to school supplies on Sunday.

Thanks to the help of the RiverQuarium the junior league of Albany gave out dozens of book bags with everything from paper to glue at their Back To School Bash.

Volunteers with the Junior League, a service organization for women, purchased the supplies.

"Statistics show than 80 percent of foster children end up homeless or incarcerated so the Junior League of Albany want to make sure that we give them the tools the necessities and the cultural experiences to be productive, educated citizens," said Sara Nisinger, Junior League of Albany.

About 80 foster kids from form Pre-K through college got the book bags.

They also toured the RiverQuarium.
