PELHAM, GA (WALB) - Friends and family were singing and lifting their prayers for a Pelham pastor with cancer.

Doctors diagnosed Pastor Steve Bush with stage four lung cancer in June. Calvary Worship Center members and other friends organized a benefit at the old Pelham High School auditorium.

People had a chance to buy raffle tickets to raise money for his recovery. His wife is grateful for all the support.

"The days he feels the worst, he'll get a spurt of energy," said his wife, Jackie Bush. "Someone will call up and say we've been praying for your today. We're hoping and praying for a complete healing."

Pastor Bush helped open Calvary Worship Center in Pelham in 2008. Friends raised about $3,000 to help pay for Pastor Bush's recovery.
