CLINCH COUNTY, GA (WALB) –Two Clinch County teens are accused of stealing speakers from fire trucks, tractors, and buildings.

Investigators say they found the speakers in one crook's car.

Investigators say the teens used an ax from a fire truck to steal the speakers.

Most of the thefts were reported by the Georgia Forestry Commission where fire trucks are temporarily being kept.

17-year old Avery Ponder and 18-year old Trevor Posley are charged with several counts of criminal damage to property and theft by taking.

Authorities say the crime could put firefighters in danger.

"With these speakers missing when they're out on a call in the middle of the night or early morning hours then they wouldn't been able to have someone let them know there's danger or anything coming to them or where they're at," said Investigator Allen Morgan with the Clinch County Sheriff's Office.

19-year old william Sheppard is also charged with theft by taking party to crime.

He's accused of telling Ponder and Posley where to find the speakers.

The damage is estimated to be about $5,000.
