THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) –A skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in Thomasville is getting bigger.

The Camellia Gardens of Life Care retirement home broke ground today for its rehab gym expansion.

The expansion will add 1,200 square feet to the current gym and will accommodate up to 20 people at a time for physical therapy.

"We're real excited about the amenities the new space is going to have," says Brigitte Panky, Camellia Gardens' Rehab Services Manager.

"We'll have a kitchen where we can do cooking and meal prep and help residents and patients regain their independence through functional activities they would be doing at home."

The new facility will begin construction next week with completion slated for later this year.
