THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) –Thomasville police arrested three people early Thursday morning and charged them with the murder of 15-year old Christopher Crumbry, Jr.
21-year old Dezmond Lovejoy and 17-year olds Jalen Rauls and Xavier Jones also face armed robbery charges, which authorities say may have been the motive behind the shooting.
Police say Crumbry was walking home around 11 Tuesday night when he was shot in the head. All three suspects live in Thomas County.
Jones lives just a couple blocks from where Crumbry was shot.
"It's so very important that we have citizens input which we did in this case," says Lt. Eric Hampton with the Thomasville Police Department.
"Without the citizens we would probably be at zero, no information. It was the citizens that live in that neighborhood who allowed us and assisted us in gathering information to make the arrests."
Police say Dezmond Lovejoy has been arrested four times in the past including two theft charges.
They don't know who actually pulled the trigger.
All three suspects are being held at the Thomas County Jail without bond.
