ALBANY,  GA (WALB) – Ryan Richardson and Roderick Ferrell have turned themselves in to Albany Police in connection with the July 3 shooting of P&P Hardware store owner Walter Phelps.

APD issued a look out for the men last night. They showed up at the law enforcement center this morning.

Several people are already under arrest in the shooting case.

67-year-old Walter Phelps, the owner of P&P Hardware on North Slappey, was shot around 8:00 am on Saturday, July 3.

Police say Phelps had just opened his store so customers could pick up their fresh peas.

A man in his early 20's walked in to rob him and shot him. As Phelps lay bleeding on the floor, another employee walked in.

The robber, still standing there with his gun, forced that employee to the floor, but didn't shoot him.  The robber left without getting any money.

Phelps, a former Lee County Commissioner, underwent surgery and recovered.
