ALBANY, GA (WALB) –A crook is caught on tape throwing a rock through the window of a central Albany convenience store and snatching cigarettes.

Store owners hope you can help identify the man seen here breaking into the Devi Convenience Store on Palmyra Road about 4:30 Wednesday morning.

After smashing his way in, he jumped over the counter and grabbed 15-packs of Newports.

On his way out, he dropped the cigarettes and had trouble picking them back up.

Store owners say these smash and grab burglaries are costly to small businesses.

[CG :Name\Pratick Patel\Store security expert Pratick Patel said  "People want easy ways to get what they want. Like basically they just think robbing is the easiest way to get what they want."

Store owners say it will cost about $500  to repair the glass.

If you can identify this burglar you could earn a reward. Call Crime Stoppers at 436-TIPS.
