ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Lee County Commissioners are interviewing candidates for interim County Administrator to replace Alan Ours.
They met with three applicants Monday, one local and two recommended by the Georgia Association of County Commissioners. They asked the Association for more applicants. Ours will leave Lee County for the County Manager job in Glynn County. His last day is a week from Friday, but commissioners don't want to rush finding a replacement.
"Naturally we want to hire someone as quickly as possible to fill the void but we're not going to panic or anything like this and try to hire someone we don't think can do a good job. We're going to try to find the right candidate to keep up the progress we've made in the last four years," said Ed Duffy, Lee County Commission Chairman.
Duffy told us the three candidates all seemed promising. He said none is interested in taking over Ours' position permanently.
