ALBANY, GA (WALB) –Albany property owners may notice a small decrease in their tax bill this year.
Tonight city commissioners voted to lower the millage rate for the fourth time in five years.
They say they wanted to give homeowners some relief since the state stopped giving them a homestead exemption last year.
"While it may be small..only a 800,000 dollar total its still something to give back to the citizens and we are real proud of that," said Wes Smith, Assistant City Manager.
