ALBANY, GA (WALB) –Darton College Police and Albany Police officers are searching for a missing student. The 21-year old never made it back to his dorm from a friend's home Sunday.

21-year old Brandon Schiff is described as an avid bike rider who took his studies seriously at Darton College.

But when his mother learned her son didn't show up to class on Monday, she knew something was wrong. "He had an A in psych for sure but he didn't show up for the final," said Sherry Ajluni, his mother.

His mother says she spoke with her son almost everyday but she hasn't heard from him since Sunday afternoon. "He was at a friends, he was supposed to be coming back to the dorm he doesn't have a car here he just has a bike," said Sherry.

Darton Police say Brandon was riding his bike back to campus from a friend's house off Oakridge Drive."His bike is really distinctive, he built it himself and it has a bright green tire so it shouldn't be hard to spot him," said his mother.

But Brandon has not been see nor heard from since Sunday afternoon. "They say he never used his card key to get into his room and they checked the tapes and he never entered the dorm," said his mother.

But Sergeant Durden, with Darton Police, says this is an unusual case because it was initiated by Darton police. "Our officers were called over there for a completely different reason. The initial call was not because of a missing person but it was another matter all together an officer went to investigate," said Sgt. Durden.

Now his mother is asking for help in finding where her son may be. "I really need anyone who has time to help me look around because I don't know the area," she said.

Police say Brandon also worked on bike patrol on campus and he showed up to the job on Thursday.

Employees at Darton say people have reported seeing Brandon since Sunday afternoon on North Van Buran Drive and Slappey..the area behind Krispy Kreme and also in the area of Oakridge.

If you know anything about Brandon's whereabouts call Darton College police at 317-6315.
