ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Monroe head coach Charles Truitt has led the Tornadoes to the state playoffs in four of his six seasons.

The coach is looking for something to get his program to the next level in AAA.

The boost may come from two new assistants to the Tornado staff.

Monroe has hired Chris Wade as their offensive coordinator-quarterbacks coach and Darren Alford to coach running backs and coordinate special teams.

It is reunion for coach Truitt who was the defensive coordinator at Americus High ten years ago and worked with Wade and Alford when the Panthers won back to back state titles.

Wade coached quarterbacks Fabian Walker, Robert Johnson and Clyde Tullis when was at Americus.

Alford has also served as the offensive coordinator at Americus-Sumter.

Coach Truitt believes the two new coaches will allow him to spend more time with what he knows best and that is defense.

Charles Truitt said. "Having had the opportunity to get back on staff and work with us and work with this team, it is a big plus for us. Looking forward to them. We have always had good staffs here at Monroe but these two guys added to this staff have really made us I think a better team."

Monroe opens the 2010 season at Terrell County.
