Same location catches fire again

By Dawn Hobby - bio | email

ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  Albany firefighters rushed to a fire Tuesday afternoon at the same address as a fire a month ago. This time, a backyard shed at 802 West Gordon Avenue caught fire.

It burned so intensely that a nearby house was scorched by the flames. Investigators don't know what caused the shed to catch fire.

Battalion Chief Keith Ambrose of the Albany Fire Department said that firefighters had the blaze under control soon after arriving on the scene.

On June 28th, the house at 802 West Gordon Avenue caught fire. Five year old Danny Wilkerson yelled for everyone to get out when the house caught fire.

Investigators say an overheated air conditioning unit caused that fire.
